New Year, Love Yourself!

Another year has passed and come. Time flies so fast that I can't believe we're already in new century again. My mind is still stuck by the memories I had last year. I must say that there are good things to be celebrated and there are also bad things that needs to be filled in. I did encountered a lot of troubles but i found ways in order to fix it. I experienced a lot of problems that helped me to overcome my fears because of that I gained many lessons that I might need all throughout making decisions in life.

The goal I'm currently striving for this year is to make this world a better place to live in by starting the changes in myself. Sure, I've had bad experiences in my life too, but this is exactly what made me the way I am now: grateful, full of love, with a desire to study well because it will help me become a successful person in the future and have a high quality of life.

New year, that doesn't mean you need to change yourself for good it means you gotta be the new better version of yourself. I need to filled in my shortcomings and be good in all the thing that I will be doing. I promised myself that I will do my best to do good things only and avoid doing bad things. I will do whatever makes me happy and won't be affected by other people's negativity. I will keep going and moving forward even when I fail, to use my obstacles as a way to grow and always be grateful for the little things in life and always remember to thank God first before anything else. I will love myself even more than ever this year.

My Reflection

This quarter gave me mixed emotion, I've come to realized and learned that not all things will stay the way they should be. Just like the saying that people come and go, I learned that you just have to live at the happy moments you have with the people who is always there for you.

I was able to overcome these challenges and problems that I en countered by putting God first in whatever I do, asking my family and friends advices and my classmates help when there are topics that I find it difficult to understand, and I'm very grateful because they are willing to help me out. With God and having the people that motivates me, I overcome these obstacles.

All in all, Third Grading Period is a tough one. But I'm glad that I surpassed all those obstacles that I encountered and I'm very happy because I learned so much and experienced many unforgettable moments that I will bring for the rest of my life. Moving on, I will use those struggles as my inspiration and motivation to keep on going.

ALL ABOUT LOVE, IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM

The spirit behind Christmas is that of giving and sharing.

"Loving is sharing, and sharing is loving."

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A time for us to understand the lessons from Jesus & reflect on them. Jesus brought a new religion based on love & the vision of a God who is full of compassion & forgiveness; a vision of doing everything with a positive mindset & from a place of love.

Christmas should mean taking quality time and bonding with your family and friends. It is about cherishing every happy moments you have with each other and celebrating the love you share.

We give each other presents but do we really know the essence of Christmas? Jesus himself said, “love thy neighbour as thyself”.

The true essence of Christmas is not gifts. The essence is not certainly the material things. The essence of Christmas lies in the name of Almighty the Lord above. For he has the power to change the world.

The essence of celebrating Christmas season is not to have a house full of Christmas lights, having a tall and beautiful Christmas tree full of gifts underneath it and giving expensive gifts. Christmas basically means sharing what you have, not just the material things but also those that can only be felt like a warm, tight hug, a simple thank you, showing our appreciation to our loved ones and forgiveness among others.

Let the essence of Christmas blossom within - as the countdown to Christmas begins.

SPEAK YOURSELF

VAWC is not only a crime, but also a gross violation of human rights.
The UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women (1993) defines violence against women (VAW) as, “any act of gender‑based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public and private life. Gender-based violence is any violence inflicted on women because of their sex.”

The more this community get developed, the more complicated it would be. Each year passed by, we have to face with many issues. Some of them are small, but some are not. Some problems caused the whole world to think and still not yet fixed. And violence against women is among them. Many women have to suffer from pain, both in physical and mental, without knowing how to stop or getting help from the others. No matter how many times women beg for help, society turns a blind eye to them, families put pressure on them, and people around trampled on them, make them realized that they don’t have a voice in this world. But after all, they’re still living and fighting for themselves until now.

Every woman’s experience of abuse is different, and each one of them deserves respect and support.

We should give women the freedom to express their personality, heart, feelings and ability. Everyone deserves freedom and we should give them the right to enjoy the same opportunity as we have. They deserve more opportunities for they are capable.

We should all be treated equally.

Make a Difference, Save Our Home

“The Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.” – Mahatma Gandhi.
Environmental awareness is to understand the fragility of our environment and the importance of its protection. Promoting environmental awareness is an easy way to become an environmental steward and participate in creating a brighter future for the next generation.
Everyone needs to be aware of the impact of their actions because the success and failure of environmental programs and the overall condition of our environment lie on small, personal acts that accumulate over time,

Other than the celebration of world environment month by the host city, it is individually celebrated by the countries in their states, cities, hometowns, schools, colleges, public places, etc with parades, cleanup activities, concerts, recycling initiatives, tree plantation, including all kinds of green actions to motivate and inspire people towards the bad condition of this beautiful planet. It is not a public holiday thus all the schools and offices remain open and no one gets off. It is an initiative to work together for taking some positive actions to maintain the beauty of the planet. We should keep in mind all the objectives of this campaign all around the year and convert them into actions accordingly in the form of beautifying the surrounding areas through plantation and cleanliness, saving water, less of use of electricity, using organic and local foods, save wildlife, and so many. We have only one planet to live on, it is our home and only we are responsible to maintain its natural beauty forever.

Protect Children’s Rights Every Day

"We cannot fashion our children after our desires, we must have them and love them as God has given them to us."
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

"To me there is no picture so beautiful as smiling, bright-eyed, happy children; no music so sweet as their clear and ringing laughter."
P. T. Barnum

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) adopted on 20 November 1989 is the first legally binding universal treaty solely dedicated to the promotion and protection of children’s rights. It sets out the rights that must be realized for every child – the rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. It offers a vision of the child as an individual and as a member of a family and community, with rights and responsibilities appropriate to his or her age and stage of development.

Parents, guardians, and all adults should be vigilant in protecting and advocating for the rights of children. While this National Children’s Month is a gentle reminder for everyone to ensure that they are creating a better world for young Filipinos to live in the future, the battle must not stop at the end of November.

Let’s continue to be great examples to kids and be conscious of our actions in making the Philippines a safe environment for them to take care of and pass on to future generations!

Celebrating good, unique Filipino values

“Good moral values are mostly molded from a place where love, faith, and hope exist.” Arsenio V. Manalo Jr

“Great people have great values and great ethics.” Jeffrey Gitomer

The celebration of Filipino Values Month in November, pursuant to Proclamation No. 479 issued on October 7, 1994, is an effective measure to create moral awakening and national consciousness on unique, positive, and genuine values held important by the Filipino people in their daily lives.

Values that nations and individuals hold sacred distinguish them from others. Filipinos are known globally for their values; love of God, country, and family; diligence and hard work; regard for personal honor and dignity; compassion, generosity, adaptability, loyalty to a friend or benefactor, respect and care for the elderly. Interaction with peoples of various cultures helps them develop a strong work ethic, patience, filial piety, and business acumen. With these values guiding them, Filipinos are able to cope with the vicissitudes of life.

I believe what’s missing in society today is the commitment to core ethical values that all people should strive to achieve, such as honesty, kindness, compassion, respect, and personal responsibility. These are values to be admired and illustrative of a person of integrity.
